Today is a big day for Amish and Mennonites, "so Thanksgiving is pretty traditional". Families travel from all over to reunite with their families, and most times its where everyone grew up at, "Which is still considered home base":) Growing up I would look fwd to the huge "carry inns" that would have food spread over a long set of tables "set up buffet style" but wouldn't look fwd to the misery afterwards! I'll try to hold myself in check today! My mother and father were in the food catering business for over 20 years so when I say my mom and sisters know food and recipes, I'm not kidding! My Uncle Henry Yoder started the first family restaurant in Abbeville, S.C. Yoder's Dutch Kitchen, then my uncle Alva Yoder started the 2nd one in Montezuma, GA. Yoder's Deiutch Haus Restaurant. My mother authored 2 very successful cookbooks, Montezuma Amish Mennonite Cookbook (1) and then the 2nd Edition. In case your wondering "nope, I'm not fat":)) I hope you and your families have a very happy Thanksgiving! Wade Yoder
